If I wasn’t a Pastor
If I was not a Pastor these are some of the things I might do:
A Rt. 66 kind of thing, except on a motorcycle
Run a bookstore, not wait on the customers and read all day long
Take harmonica lessons from Howard Levy (www.levyland.com) and play the blues and jazz in small clubs except when I accompany Delbert McClinton
Write fiction novels with romance, intrigue, betrayal and friendship - man, I love a good story
Do recovery work all the time with people who are at the end of their rope and think no one cares and there is no way out – I feel closer to Jesus when I do this
Run a store featuring writing instruments. I have a pen collection with hundreds of pens of all sorts. None are terribly expensive, but I am always looking for the pen with the perfect feel. Yes, I know, this is something I should tell a therapist (who had better watch where puts his pen down!!)
An advertising executive. I love a good commercial!!!
I’ll leave it up to you to decide if all this just goes to prove I shouldn’t be a pastor in the first place.

Hi,
Other than running a book store and being a grouch I dont see why you cant do them all and “Still” be a Pastor. I say bookstore because, well these things take time to run and I personaly would find it difficult to do both, but thats just me. Being a grouch is something i am looking into doing myself, something i always wanted to be when I am old enough, but I do have concerns as weather it is possible to be a grouch and a Pastor, though I would be “Very2 interested in the grouches and day to day rants of a pastor.
There you go sir, I believe you can do what you want to do and still spread the word of god. (Possible reaching alot more people as well)
