When you are in a mess – Bush and Iraq

The present war in Iraq is a metaphor to me. Sometimes in our lives (no, not sometimes but often times) the only thing we can say, like President Bush said last evening, “mistakes were made.” I think I have said that a thousand times over in my life. Mistakes aren’t sins necessarily. They are just dumb things we do without thinking far enough down the road to see where things lead, what present choices will mean. A good part of our lives are spent living with those choices and trying not to give up and calling it a day. Read the rest of this entry »
