Is my blog about what I need to say or what we need to hear?

It is mostly about what I need to say. That makes it dangerous. Because ministry is not about me – it’s about you and what you need. But I am also convinced people don’t want to be served by somebody they do not know or someone they suspect is shadow boxing with them or holding their cards close to their chest…. Dating Jesus

I am very comfortable with the language of intimacy and romance when it comes to my relationship with Christ. The bride-bridegroom metaphor works for me. So does contemporary praise music. The majesty of hymns appeals to me but the released passion of praise music (not all of it or even most of it but some of it) suits me. Music can and will teach me,  but it also engages me and allows me a way to say things to Christ that I really want to say. Read the rest of this entry »
